Warranty

Please note we adopt the warranty provided by our suppliers. This means certain products come with no warranty like batteries, ECU units and most electronic parts due to the nature of our sport and the water the boats are used in. We don’t accept returns, please also do your research before investing in a product as we don’t accept any responsibilities if a product does not do what you expect it to do. If the product is preforming within in it’s specs it will not be replaced or returned. If you are not sure about the warranty of a certain product please feel free to inquire.

Kamo 360

One year warranty on fiberglass workmanship only.

Warning:

  • Not recommended to run the boat on anything more than a 4 Cell Lipo configuration and if you running 4S we recommend limiting your throttle curve down to 80-85%Max to avoid users from flipping their boats when not paying attention of direction at high speeds. (The boat in our video is 4S limited at 90% for example)
  • Do not turn the boat at high speeds especially when fully loaded, it could capsize especially on a 4 cell configuration where speeds are greater, only designed for speeds in a straight line. Remember it’s a bait boat and with speed comes responsibility and user caution..
  • Do not mix batteries with different cell counts, voltages.
  • Do not operate the boat in very high winds or storms
  • Do not run the motor if you pickup line or any objects in the prop, it is designed to break free at the universal joint from the motor when under excessive load, this is to avoid damaging the system.
  • If you use battery backup (note: this is only for emergencies to get the boat home) you should not run the boat at full speed to avoid burning the micro switch.
  • Don’t leave any batteries loose inside the hull unsupported when operating the boat.

Specimen Pro Bait Boat

One year warranty, batteries excluded.

Lipo Batteries

When we send out all lipo batteries we try our best to check for balanced cells and balanced low internal resistance. All customers are responsible to fully and completely check their lipo batteries before use in any model. If you are not happy with the results please contact us immediately to arrange an exchange of your lipo pack(s). Upon receiving your lipo pack and checking it/them you have 3 days to report its condition.

  • These lithium polymer battery pack are guaranteed, under warranty, against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • This warranty does not cover physical damage to the battery pack as the result of a crash, hard landing, improper mounting or any deformity caused by the user.
  • This warranty does not cover internal damage to the battery pack due to overcharging, deep discharging, or excessive discharge current.
  • We do not accept responsibility for injury, crash, damage, or loss of kits or accessories.
  • You must report any under voltage lipos upon the first charge.
  • You must report any imbalanced cells upon the first charge.
  • You must report high internal resistance upon the first charge.
  • Once the pack has been used with the above issues the warranty is void.
  • Packs are not warranted against modifications like changing the or original connectors. (By request we can do this for you)
  • All lipo batteries must be sent back to CarpeDiem’s Shop to undergo testing before any warranty claims are made, if the lipo pack is deemed to be faulty in anyway we will ship a replacement to you free of charge. In some cases we may have to send the lipo back to the supplier before a claim can be processed .

Lithium Polymer Battery Safety Warnings:

By purchasing any Lipo battery, the buyer assumes all risks associated with lithium batteries. We assume no liability for failure to comply with these warnings and safety guidelines. Lithium Polymer batteries are volatile and can be very dangerous if mis-handled, stored, charged or discharged incorrectly. Failure to read and follow these instructions may result in fire, personal injury, and damage to property.

Store below 26°C and above 4°C whenever possible (not in direct sunlight). Never store or charged a battery pack inside your car in extreme temperatures (37°C and above), since extreme temperature could cause a fire. Use caution to avoid puncturing of the cells as puncturing of any cells may cause a fire.

If at any time you witness a battery starting to balloon or swell up, discontinue the charging or discharging process immediately. Disconnect the battery and observe it in a safe place for approximately 15 minutes. Dispose of the pack following the instructions below. Continuing to use a battery that has begun to swell may result in a fire.

Do not attempt to solder connectors to Lithium Polymer batteries unless you have sufficient experience. Wire lead shorts can cause fires. If you accidentally short the wires, the battery must be placed in a safe area for observation for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, if a short occurs and contact is made with metal (such as rings on your hand), severe injuries may occur due to the conductibility of electric current.

If, for any reason, you need to cut the terminal wires, it will be necessary to cut each wire separately, ensuring the wires do not touch each other, or a short may occur potentially causing a fire.

To solder a connector, remove any protective insulation on the red wire and solder to the positive terminal of a connector then remove any protective insulation on the black wire and solder to the negative terminal of the connector. Be careful not to short the wire lead. If you accidentally cause the battery to short, place it in a safe open space and observe the
battery for approximately 15 minutes. A battery may swell or even possibly catch fire after a short time.

Do not charge battery packs in series or parallel. Charge each battery pack individually. Failure to do so may result in incorrect battery recognition and charging functions. Overcharging may occur and a fire may be the result. You must check the pack voltage before each charging session. Do not attempt to charge any pack if the voltage per cell is less than 3.2 V.

  • Example: Do not discharge a 2-cell pack if below 6.4V
  • Do not discharge a 3-cell pack if below 9.6V
  • Do not discharge battery to a level below 3.2V per cell under load.

Deep discharge below 3.2V per cell can dramatically deteriorate battery performance and will likely cause the battery pack to become defective and un-usable.

Batteries that lose 20% of their capacity must be removed from service and disposed of properly. For example, a 2000mah battery that behaves as if it is only a 1600mah battery is unsuitable for service. Dispose of it using the instructions below…

Lithium Polymer disposal instructions:

  • Discharge the battery to 0 volts.
  • Puncture each cell and immerse in saltwater for 24 hours.
  • Wrap the battery in a bag and place in an appropriate disposal canister.

The above information are some guidelines on how to correctly use your lipo batteries at all times, it is ultimately the customers responsibility to fully inform themselves on how to use Lipo batteries.
